Job Title: Director, Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence

Sheridan College is seeking a visionary leader to drive the Centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) forward as a leading research and innovation centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing CAAI's reputation and evolution, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue generation to ensure the Centre's financial viability.

About the Role

The Director will provide strategic leadership for CAAI, leveraging their expertise in artificial intelligence and innovation to drive the Centre's operations and partnerships. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing research projects and partnerships with industry and community partners
  • Guiding the Centre's operations, including financial management and reporting
  • Cultivating external partnerships and business development opportunities
  • Providing leadership and direction to the CAAI team
  • Engaging with other research and entrepreneurship centres at Sheridan and the Faculties
About You

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in artificial intelligence, innovation, and leadership. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 7 years of significant work experience in a related area of focus
  • Deep knowledge of artificial intelligence and emerging trends in its application
  • Experience in research and development, business development, and grant writing
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
