Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and caring Client Transportation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our clients have safe and comfortable transportation to and from appointments and destinations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and efficient transportation for clients using accessible vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logs and ensure that all necessary certifications are current.
- Assist clients with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, providing support as needed, including carrying personal belongings and equipment.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and protect client information at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with VON staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless client care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Experience handling vehicle restraints and operating accessible equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers).
- Valid G class driver's license and clean driving abstract.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Must possess a valid driver's permit and a clean driver's abstract.
- Must have valid G class driver's license.
- Must provide proof of required insurance coverage when using personal vehicle.
- A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon the start of employment.
- A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check required.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
