About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Embassy West Senior Living. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Daily Living Activities
    • Accompany residents on outdoor recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being
    • Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up, and assembling medical equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment
    • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide Medical Support
    • Take residents' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse to monitor their health
    • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as needed
    • Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment to ensure it is in good working order
  • Support Residents' Needs
    • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments to ensure seamless communication
    • Make beds and maintain residents' rooms to promote a clean and comfortable environment
    • Supervise residents' exercise routines to promote physical activity and well-being
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Collect specimens for testing and analysis
    • Prepare residents for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
    • Administer first aid in emergency situations to ensure residents' safety
    Requirements
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week
    • Fluency in English
