OverviewThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will oversee the responsibilities outlined in the bylaws of Eastern Counties Ontario Youth for Christ (ECONYFC), as further detailed in this document. The CEO must possess a strong Christian character, adhere to the ECONYFC Statement of Faith, and comply with the organization's policy manual. The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors for the management and strategic direction of ECONYFC's activities, including the development of all programs and the overall spiritual health of the organization.Organization BackgroundECONYFC has been actively engaged in local communities for over two decades. From its inception, our Youth for Christ representatives have aimed to address the needs of young individuals in various aspects—socially, spiritually, physically, and mentally. We strive to remain relevant and proactive in reaching teenagers within their cultural context, serving as a guiding light to God in their lives.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Staff Development
  • Provide comprehensive leadership for the staff team.
  • Oversee the continuous development of team members.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for staff.
  • Lead the implementation of the Board's vision.
  • Formulate and execute a strategic plan to establish a Youth for Christ presence in secondary schools and communities across Eastern Ontario.
Board Engagement
  • Participate in all Board meetings, reporting on matters related to programs, personnel, finances, and facilities.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of all Board-established committees.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new Board members.
Community Engagement
  • Maintain regular communication with supporters, churches, and community leaders, sharing the impact of ECONYFC's ministry initiatives.
  • Oversee all communications and mailings issued under the ECONYFC name.
  • Engage with community groups and churches to enhance the visibility of ECONYFC.
Program Oversight
  • Provide overall leadership for ECONYFC's programs, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness in alignment with the organization's vision and mission.
  • Develop an annual strategic plan in collaboration with staff to advance ECONYFC's vision.
Fundraising Initiatives
  • Responsible for securing personal financial partnership support.
  • Identify and apply for grants to support the administrative operations of the Chapter and Youth for Christ workers.
  • Lead and oversee fundraising events organized by the Steering Committees.
Support Team Development
  • Create and maintain a prayerful and financial support team.
  • Ensure regular personal contact with all support team members.
  • Maintain a database of support team members.
Staff Partnership Development
  • Support staff in their efforts to establish and maintain healthy ministry partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure full deputation of all staff workers.
Administrative Oversight
  • Supervise the general operations of ECONYFC's administrative functions.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget for ECONYFC.
  • Supervise and assist in the development of annual budgets for Steering Committees.
  • Oversee the administrative activities of ECONYFC's satellite operations.
  • Ensure compliance with YFC Canada's policies and guidelines.
  • Adhere to all applicable government regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date policy and procedure manuals for ECONYFC.
  • Ensure implementation of Board-approved policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee that adequate and well-maintained facilities and equipment are available for ECONYFC's programs and staff.
Retreats and Conferences
  • Organize an annual off-site meeting for staff and Board members focused on spiritual rejuvenation, team development, and strategic planning.
  • Participate in National YFC Ministry Conferences, Eastern Regional Retreats, and other YFC Canada initiatives.
