Dawson College is seeking a highly skilled Pedagogical Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our academic development team, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning community at the College.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance to program committees and writing committees on curriculum development and revision, including the interpretation of competencies and the development of exit profiles.
- Assist in the writing of program design and revision documents, and advise faculty on the implementation of new and revised programs.
- Support the development of course design documents and advise faculty on the evaluation of competency-based DEC and AEC programs.
- Develop and refine documentation related to program revision and course design, and prepare documents, templates, and guidelines for faculty use.
- Participate in processes related to the development, revision, and evaluation of academic policies, and animate discussions and lead workshops on competency-based education and curriculum.
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly in education.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience in a post-secondary educational institution, preferably at the College/Cégep level.
- Experience in the design and coordination of program revision and/or course design, and teaching experience at the college level is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of competency-based education and the program approach, and experience in curriculum development, preferably in a competency-based educational setting and working with faculty.
