Nature of the work:
The job of pedagogical counsellor involves more specifically functions of advising, leading, providing information, as well as development, support and feedback to the teaching staff, the executive staff responsible for teaching services and other stakeholders at the College, in connection with pedagogy, and particularly programs of study, learning and teaching strategies, and evaluation of student learning.

Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for the processes related to program revision et development, as well as course design.

Responsibilities:
•Advise, guide and assist program committees and writing committees in the development and revision of programs, which includes assistance with the interpretation of competencies, development of exit profiles, curriculum mapping, program grid development, etc.;
•Serve on program revision committees and liaise with other college services and other managers as required;
•Assist in the writing of program design, revision documents;
•Advise and assist faculty in the implementation of new and revised programs;
•Support the development of course design documents;
•Advise and assist faculty in the evaluation of competency-based DEC and AEC programs;
•Develop and refine documentation related to program revision and course design;
•Prepare documents, templates and guidelines that faculty can use in curriculum design at the program and course level;
•Participate, as appropriate, in processes related to the development, revision, evaluation of academic policies;
•Animate discussions, organize, present and lead workshops on competency-based-education and curriculum;
•Contribute to the organization and animation of professional development activities for faculty, in groups or individually;
•Provide support to activities and events organized by the Office of Academic Development and the College, as appropriate;
•Other related tasks assigned by the Dean of Academic Development. Requirements : Conditions:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of specialization, particularly in education.

Qualifications:
•A minimum of 3 years of related experience in a post-secondary educational institution, preferably at the College/Cégep level;
•Experience in the design and coordination of program revision and/or course design.
•Teaching experience at the college level, an asset.
•Demonstrated knowledge of competency-based education and the program approach;
•Experience in curriculum development, preferably in a competency-based educational setting and working with faculty;
•Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills;
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with various levels of staff and faculty;
•Ability to work in teams and with groups;
•Advanced oral and written English language skills (testing may be required);
•Intermediate oral and written French language skills (testing may be required);
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (testing may be required);
•A graduate degree in a specialization appropriate to the position would be an asset.
