Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan, organize, direct, and assess construction initiatives from inception to completion, adhering to timelines, specifications, and budgetary constraints.
  • Evaluate and authorize the comprehensive bid/pre-construction timeline.
  • Formulate an effective bidding approach for each project, tailored to the owner's evaluation criteria to enhance scoring potential.
  • Provide guidance and implement best practices to establish the benchmark for pre-construction operations.
  • Collaborate on the overarching strategic planning within the business unit alongside the District Manager, while leading and supporting project-level initiatives.
  • Supervise the evolution of the pre-construction process, focusing on continuous improvement, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Manage the pre-construction budget for more intricate projects when necessary.
  • Offer insights on selecting trade and consulting partners deemed financially stable, with sufficient manpower and the requisite expertise to execute the work.
  • Review and sanction the mitigation of potential financial pressures and facilitate discussions to accurately assess and calculate fees.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships that will enhance collaboration on significant projects.
  • Foster and maintain robust internal and external relationships.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a leadership role within a construction firm.
  • Proven experience in managing large design-build and other complex projects.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial pre-construction project management for large-scale construction projects exceeding $50M.
  • Expertise in conceptual estimating, benchmarking, market testing, and analytics related to project pursuits.
  • History of securing major bids with joint venture partners, with a proven track record in managing successful infrastructure and construction proposals.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
