Job Summary

As a key member of our multidisciplinary regional rehabilitation team, the Occupational Therapist will work independently to plan, deliver, and evaluate rehabilitation services for children and/or adult populations. The successful candidate will utilize a client-centered, goal-oriented approach to provide assessment, direct intervention, consultation, and education/training in various settings, including acute care, outpatient, long-term care, client's home, school, and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of rehabilitation services
  • Provide assessment, direct intervention, consultation, and education/training to clients and caregivers
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or equivalent entry-level requirement in Occupational Therapy
  • Active registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM)
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and email/Outlook
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with management and staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French)
Working Conditions
  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Immunization as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
