Maintenance Worker

R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and fixtures
- Assist in the upkeep of our facilities, including cleaning and organization
- Operate and maintain computerized maintenance monitoring systems
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
Requirements:
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License
- Good physical health and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment
- Grade 12 education and 2-5 years of experience in a large building complex
Preferred Qualifications:
- Carpentry, painting, and boilers experience
- Certificates in plumbing, carpentry, painting, boiler maintenance, refrigeration, electronics, and phone and cable hook up
Working Conditions:
Casual hours, days, evenings, and weekends. Hours may vary as per project needs.
Salary and Benefits:
$ per hour. Pension, vacation, and holiday benefits as per Department of Labor Standards for Casual employment.
