Job Title: General Duty Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients, adhering to professional standards and the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and assessments to determine the need for respiratory therapy services.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on respiratory therapy techniques and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Manitoba Association of Respiratory Therapists (MARRT) is required.
  • Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. The position requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods. The candidate must also be able to lift heavy medical equipment and push wheeled medical equipment.
