Description:

In the role of Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will be responsible for conducting a range of standardized and intricate ultrasound examinations for the purpose of diagnosing and monitoring diseases and medical conditions. Your duties will include:

  • Preparing patients for examinations and reviewing their medical history.
  • Explaining procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Obtaining high-quality ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Taking initial actions to address any abnormal findings.
  • Assisting with diagnosis, clinical interventions, and patient management while maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.

You may also collaborate with Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists, and other healthcare professionals during specialized procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

A completed extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from a recognized institution. Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in Echocardiography is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with contrast-enhancing agents and performing invasive procedures is advantageous.
