Position Overview

Join our team at Laymoon Kitchen as a dedicated Retail Meat Cutter. This role involves working in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for various meat preparation tasks.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience is not mandatory as training will be provided.
Work Environment

The position involves working in a setting that may include:

  • Exposure to odours
  • Cold or refrigerated areas
Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

  • Cleaning meats in preparation for processing or cutting
  • Cutting carcasses, sides, and quarters
  • Trimming and preparing standard cuts of meat
  • Wrapping and packaging prepared meats
  • Removing bones from meat
  • Weighing meats for sale
  • Cutting poultry into parts
  • Pricing meat products
  • Cleaning and preparing fish and shellfish
  • Engaging with customers to sell meats
  • Supervising other butchers and meat cutters
  • Slicing cooked meats
  • Creating special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shaping, lacing, and tying roasts and other meats
  • Preparing special orders as requested
