Senior Associate or Counsel Opportunity

HUM Law, a dynamic small firm in Toronto, is seeking a motivated Senior Associate or Counsel to join our diverse and growing team.

This role involves providing expert legal advice on various employment law matters to both employers and employees, and in litigation and the development of legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality work product efficiently, including drafting demand letters, settlement documentation, pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents within tight timelines.
  • Understand client needs and key issues, using sound judgement to assess client risks and create successful strategies.
  • Communicate legal strategies and litigation updates clearly and concisely, both internally working with the team, and with clients.
  • Proactively manage files confidently and independently, with minimal support.
  • Ability to conduct workplace investigations would be an asset.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in employment/labour law, with a demonstrated understanding of complex legal issues.
  • Advocacy skills, both written and oral, mainly on wrongful dismissal claims and human rights applications.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral, with French language skills, or additional languages, an asset.
