About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer or Technologist to join our team at ANDRITZ AG. As a key member of our Automation & Digitalization division, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects that improve plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers and coworkers to solve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects;
  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades;
  • Design industrial LV and MV electrical power systems, including equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, cable and raceway sizing and layouts, and electrical room design;
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation;
  • Complete electrical, control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system and network architecture, and instrumentation systems;
  • Design control strategies to optimize performance, and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications;
  • Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering;
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset;
  • Experience in pulp & paper; mining and/or chemical industries an asset;
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English);
  • Registered as a P.Eng/EIT or AScT in British Columbia;
  • Practical knowledge of North American standards;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary that increases with technical capability, a comprehensive benefits package, a flexible work environment, and a defined contribution pension plan. Salary range: $71,000 to $115,000; commensurate with experience, based on a 37.5 hour work week.
