Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Black & McDonald Limited. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services, and for implementing and maintaining quality control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure that products and services meet quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection and testing results, and prepare reports for management.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure that quality control systems are effective and efficient.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to quality control systems and processes to ensure ongoing quality and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, quality assurance, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices, including ISO 9001 and ASME B31.1. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Certifications and Endorsements: Active registration with the Canadian Welding Bureau as a Welding Inspector with CSA Standard W47.1, and a valid CWB W59 Inspector Level 2 or higher endorsement.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position will involve regular travel to fabrication shops and industrial field work sites.
