Job Overview - Strategic Planning Analyst / Senior Analyst

What impact will you have in this position?

The Strategic Planning Analyst/Senior Analyst role is an engaging and fast-paced opportunity that demands an individual capable of working autonomously to deliver strategic and operational assistance to the Office of the President, as well as the wider International Card Services (ICS) Canada division. The successful candidate will possess strong business insight, exceptional organizational abilities, and be adept at cultivating and utilizing relationships across all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offering planning and coordination assistance to the ICS Leadership Team, which includes strategic business planning, project oversight, budget management, analytical support, and leadership of specific strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Aiding in the management of essential strategic processes, including ICS HQ-led initiatives; identifying key stakeholders, facilitating communications, and overseeing timelines to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Supporting the annual strategic planning cycle, which involves tracking critical metrics and scorecards. Collaborating closely with key stakeholder groups to align strategic objectives with financial expectations.
  • Facilitating the execution of the team's strategy and long-term plan.
  • Overseeing a comprehensive colleague communication strategy, which includes town halls, All-Hands meetings, business updates, and any digital or written communications.
  • Supporting colleague engagement initiatives and representing ICS Canada on various committees, task forces, and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a highly driven self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and leading projects independently. Strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and experience in a strategic role are essential.
  • Flexibility, excellence in execution, and absolute discretion are critical.
  • Exceptional financial insight, problem-solving capabilities, analytical skills, and collaborative abilities are required.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence peers and superiors across business units.
  • High level of business acumen, excellent strategic thinking, process management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to formulate clear action plans and drive processes with numerous interdependencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present information effectively across various media channels.
  • Proven experience in project management, with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks to achieve results within tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of the Canadian financial institution landscape and key compliance regulations affecting our industry.
  • Experience collaborating with key stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operational Excellence, HR, and Risk teams to achieve results.
