Our dedicated team of nearly 1,000 professionals operates a diverse range of transit options, including light rail, urban buses, intercity coaches, and airport shuttles, ensuring a safe and enjoyable travel experience for millions.
ROLE SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the General Manager of Keolis Grand River (KGR), the Director of Contract Management and Finance plays a pivotal role in the successful operation of the ION Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in the Region of Waterloo. This position is responsible for overseeing contract management and financial operations within the framework of our long-term Operation, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation (OM&R) contract, as part of a Public-Private Partnership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract Management Leadership:
- Provide expert guidance on the ION LRT agreements, advising on strategic planning and decision-making through comprehensive analysis of business dynamics.
- Facilitate the interpretation and management of contracts, ensuring compliance and addressing any contractual obligations or opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial and financial operations, ensuring adherence to corporate policies.
- Coordinate legal assessments related to commercial matters with internal and external legal advisors.
Financial Management Oversight:
- Lead the financial planning and budgeting processes for KGR, aligning with corporate objectives and ensuring effective financial governance.
- Implement financial monitoring systems and audits across departments to track budgetary performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop strategies to enhance financial performance, focusing on forecasting, cost control, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and corporate policies, promoting transparency and ethical practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including project partners and auditors, to provide detailed analyses and reports that support effective oversight.
- Work closely with all departments to analyze financial results and maintain consistency in reporting standards.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of growth and motivation within the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of ten years of experience in contract management or management accounting.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management, accounting, or finance.
- Proven experience in contract negotiations and the ability to influence outcomes effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario regulations regarding contract management and financial practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
This role is essential in driving the success of Keolis Canada’s operations and ensuring the effective management of contracts and financial resources.
