Opportunity OverviewWe currently have an opportunity for a Casual Anesthesia Assistant to join our team.
As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care as established by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) and the standards of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the care of stable surgical patients during general, regional, or local anesthesia under the clinical direction of the Chief of Anesthesia.
- Provide technical support for the anesthesiologist for complex anesthesia equipment, administer anesthetic gases and medications, perform conscious sedation, and insert and monitor intravenous and arterial lines.
- Conduct constant assessment and evaluative monitoring of the depth of anesthesia under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist and with the use of medical directives, as applicable.
- Be an integral member of the Allied Health team, with accountabilities for professional practice, education, and research.
Completion of (or current enrollment in) an accredited Anesthesia Assistant (AA) Program is required.
