Opportunity Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Casual Anesthesia Assistant to join our team.

As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care as established by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) and the standards of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in the care of stable surgical patients during general, regional, or local anesthesia under the clinical direction of the Chief of Anesthesia.
  2. Provide technical support for the anesthesiologist for complex anesthesia equipment, administer anesthetic gases and medications, perform conscious sedation, and insert and monitor intravenous and arterial lines.
  3. Conduct constant assessment and evaluative monitoring of the depth of anesthesia under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist and with the use of medical directives, as applicable.
  4. Be an integral member of the Allied Health team, with accountabilities for professional practice, education, and research.
Requirements

Completion of (or current enrollment in) an accredited Anesthesia Assistant (AA) Program is required.
