Position Overview:
The Oncology Account Specialist is instrumental in positioning Kyowa Kirin as a frontrunner in the Oncology and Rare Diseases sectors. This role involves a commitment to supporting healthcare providers in Oncology and Rare Diseases to enhance patient health outcomes and establish trust throughout the patient care continuum. The specialist will effectively manage hospital systems and accounts, identifying key stakeholders and fostering robust relationships to navigate the patient journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Management: Lead the planning and management of Cancer Care Boards/Centers for targeted hospital systems, focusing on the patient journey and identifying key influencers to drive sales.
- Market Insight: Develop a comprehensive understanding of oncology and dermatology centers within the designated regions, mapping key stakeholders and patient pathways.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Apply knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and access environments within the Oncology and Dermatology sectors, including pharmacy economics and reimbursement landscapes.
- Performance Analysis: Review and assess product performance within Cancer Care Boards/Centers, implementing necessary actions to enhance outcomes.
Patient Identification and Support:
- Engage with healthcare professionals and Cancer Care Boards/Centers, delivering complex, approved promotional information in a compliant and effective manner.
- Educate referral networks on best practices in disease management.
- Analyze patient flow and institutional interactions to inform business strategies and sales execution.
- Facilitate the identification and tracking of potential patients for follow-up by healthcare providers.
- Ensure ongoing support for patients receiving Poteligeo through multidisciplinary healthcare professional collaboration.
- Work cross-functionally to develop actionable business plans that enhance formularies and protocols within Cancer Care Boards/Centers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Oncology and Rare Disease standards of care and emerging clinical trends.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Direct off-label information requests to the medical department through established processes.
- Adhere to all relevant federal and provincial regulations, the Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) Code of Ethical Practices, and internal compliance policies.
- Exhibit integrity and high ethical standards in all stakeholder interactions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or business is required; MBA or medical/pharmacy degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 3 years in account management within institutional, oncology, or rare disease sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Veeva is essential.
- Non-Technical Skills: Strong motivation, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Standard office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use. The role requires significant travel, including overnight stays.
