Position Summary
As a full-service hospital, Southlake Regional Health Centre focuses on delivering high-quality, clinically advanced care to over one million residents in York Region and Simcoe County.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in both direct and indirect advanced clinical practice, education, research, and consultation within a designated clinical specialty to ensure optimal patient care.
- Contribute to the program and professional leadership team by promoting quality care through the implementation of evidence-based practices, evaluating patient outcomes, and developing clinical policies and programs.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development and mentorship for students and colleagues.
- Exemplify professional and organizational core competencies while providing expert clinical nursing leadership.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively within an interprofessional team.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills.
- Experience in clinical nursing, interprofessional leadership, and educational roles.
- Background in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for patients, families, and staff.
- Understanding and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

Educational Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Stream, or
- Master's degree in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing with a completed post-Masters Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Recent experience in Geriatrics and Chronic Disease Management.
- Registered in Good Standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current membership with RNAO.
- Preferred clinical specialty organizational membership.
- BCLS certification required.
- Preferred minimum of three years of experience as an advanced practice nurse in a specific clinical specialty.
