About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our KT REACH Nexus project, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective communications strategies to advance our research and policy priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and advise on the translation function of knowledge translation in the context of specific projects, bridging conversations between experts and stakeholders to advance our priorities.
  • Develop strong relationships with content experts and identify individuals, groups, and organizations who can put relevant knowledge into practice.
  • Design and execute opportunities for content experts to interact with relevant audiences, including in-person and virtual events.
  • Develop highly-accessible plain language materials and implement dissemination plans to reach specific audiences.
  • Create and execute strategic public affairs plans and communications products to advance project activities and build awareness among key stakeholders.
  • Perform all required strategic communication responsibilities, including event support, photo support, and media relations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in a health, research, public policy, or academic environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of communications trends and experience in developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills, with the ability to ensure error-free materials.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and outstanding organization and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented, self-directed, and able to work independently and balance multifaceted projects and competing priorities.
