About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Oil Burner Mechanic to join our Residential team at Northern Property REIT. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and upkeep of our properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform plumbing and renovation work in accordance with work-orders, plans, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, layout and assemble oil burner heating system components, test installed units, and adjust controls for proper functioning.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on motors, pumps, control devices, boilers, forced air furnaces, and oil-fired hot water tanks.
  • Identify supplies and compile a materials list for sealift.
  • Assist in inventory and stock control.
  • Participate in a call-out team dealing with emergencies on a rotating basis.
  • Travel to other communities as necessary to ensure the safety and upkeep of our properties.
  • Ensure safety standards are met.

Qualifications

  • The applicant must possess a valid Oil Burner Mechanic/Oil Heat Systems Technician journeymen's ticket.
  • The successful applicant must have a current class 5 driver's license and be able to provide a criminal background check free from relevant convictions.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the property management or facilities maintenance industry.
  • The ideal candidate will be conscientious, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and work well within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated compliance with safe work practices and safety reporting procedures.
