Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Residential team in Iqaluit, NU. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our buildings, while providing a positive experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with Northview's Health and Safety requirements
  • Performing drywall repairs, painting, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs
  • Assisting with minor plumbing repairs, including toilet plunging, faucet cartridge replacement, and boiler maintenance
  • Conducting minor renovations, including kitchen cabinet and door repairs
  • Repairing and replacing locks
  • Performing minor electrical repairs, including security system checks
  • Assisting with suite renovations and other minor upgrades
  • Moving equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Responding to work orders and emergency situations in a timely manner
  • Removing snow from walkways and common areas, as needed
  • Delivering notices to building residents and posting notices in common areas
  • Conducting building inspections
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Working as part of an on-call rotation team responding to work orders and emergencies
  • Assisting in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Providing resident services and assistance as required

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in building maintenance
  • Able to provide a criminal record check that is free of relevant convictions
  • Valid driver's license and annual drivers abstract (if using a company vehicle)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work with equipment and supplies
