DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, the Physiotherapist is tasked with evaluating patients and formulating tailored treatment strategies.

This role involves meticulous documentation of all patient interactions, active participation in care meetings, and the maintenance of pertinent statistics. The Physiotherapist will also engage in program development and assessment, along with other related responsibilities as necessary. Travel between various Lakeridge locations may be necessary, and weekend shifts could be part of the schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold a valid license from the College of Physiotherapy to practice in Ontario (in good standing);
  • Possession of a Master's degree in Physiotherapy or its equivalent;
  • At least 2 years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation environment;
  • Completion of a postgraduate orthopedic course is advantageous;
  • Proven experience in managing medically complex and post-surgical patients;
  • Experience in clinical preceptorship or mentorship of student clinicians is preferred;
  • Current CPR certification;
  • Demonstrated capability to design and recommend ongoing self-care programs for clients;
  • Proven ability to manually lift, turn, and transfer patients, both manually and with mechanical assistance;
  • Proficient in using personal computers and Microsoft Office software;
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and case management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with conflict resolution abilities;
  • A demonstrated commitment to the core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy;
  • A satisfactory performance record is required;
  • A solid understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety protocols, including staff, patient, and environmental safety, along with participation in regular in-service education in this area.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment terms are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.

Successful external candidates must present a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the last six months.
