Full-time Support Staff Position Opportunity

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of procurement and returning of textbooks, course packs, and etexts pertaining to Durham College. This includes researching the best price, delivery, and quality of materials, recommending alternative sources, and evaluating current vendors. The candidate will also be responsible for procuring faculty kits for Durham College programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Procure and return textbooks, course packs, and etexts for Durham College.
  2. Research and recommend alternative sources for materials.
  3. Evaluate current vendors and use government contracts through OECM if applicable.
  4. Provide advice on procurement-related matters to internal and external contacts.
  5. Assist in resolving problems and conflicts related to purchasing.
  6. Provide support for faculty kits procurement.
Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in a related discipline such as Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Management Studies.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a Purchasing environment or Office Administration.
  3. Experience within a College environment is an asset.
  4. Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  5. Highly developed customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  6. Team building, organizational, and time management skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality.
