Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join our team at Standard Manufacturers Services Limited. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machine tools to perform precision machining operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain CNC Equipment: Safely operate and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Verify Product Quality: Verify conformance of finished product to dimensional specifications, using precise measuring equipment and calculations to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify and Report Non-Conformities: Identify non-conforming parts and report to supervisor and quality assurance team.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read, interpret, and understand blueprints to ensure accurate machining operations.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure all machine centers, tools, fixtures, and precise measuring instruments are kept safe, calibrated, and in excellent working condition.
  • Assemble and Fit Machined Parts: Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Document Work Packages: Complete work package documentation accurately to ensure the traceability of machine parts.
  • Perform Daily Maintenance: Perform daily care and maintenance checks on machinery and equipment.
  • Report Production Concerns: Report any production concerns in regards to quality, material issues, machinery, or tools to your cell leader/supervisor immediately.
  • Adhere to Safety and Health Policies: Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety and health policies and programs.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvements: Bring forth and participate in departmental continuous improvements.
  • Support Lean Initiative: Support Standard Manufacturers Services Limited's Lean initiative.
Working Conditions
  • Attention to Detail: Must possess attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Must be able to work as part of a team.
Shifts and Employment Requirements
  • Shift Schedule: 4 days a week, 10 hours a day (Monday to Thursday), and 12 hours a day (Friday to Sunday).
  • Employment Requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience preferred, completion of high school required, some secondary education required, and WHMIS Certification.
