Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Price Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer and distributor of air distribution products, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team in Winnipeg. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for leading machine moves, commissioning, and decommissioning efforts, as well as driving product launches and changes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead machine moves, commissioning, and decommissioning efforts, ensuring seamless execution and coordination with contractors, maintenance teams, and cross-functional departments.
- Drive product launches and changes, including conducting in-depth product costing analyses and overseeing the implementation of changes in production.
- Coordinate and manage manufacturing support projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and meeting all scope requirements.
- Provide production support through machinery troubleshooting, testing, and validation to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Identify and spearhead initiatives to resolve equipment and process safety hazards, ensuring compliance with CSA standards and a safe working environment.
- Validate, enhance, and document manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies across multiple business units and plants, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Lead the identification, financial justification, and implementation of new machinery, automation solutions, and strategic-level process improvements to optimize production.
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, SMED, line balancing, waste reduction, time studies, and Kanban to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain and optimize shop floor layouts using 2D CAD software and analytical methods for efficient space and resource utilization.
- Design and implement storage and transportation solutions for raw materials and WIP.
- Design and implement safety guards, fixtures, tools, machine modifications, and other production implements.
- Develop and maintain job instruction documentation, lead training sessions for production staff, and conduct regular process audits.
- Assist maintenance and production teams with setting up preventative maintenance procedures.
- Respond to quality concerns and support their resolution.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar role, with a proven ability to lead projects and drive improvements.
- Proficient in CAD software (2D and 3D) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with SharePoint or database management is an asset.
- Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and delivering results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decisions.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, and drawing interpretation.
- Experience in mechanical, tooling, and sheet metal design. Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
