POSITION OVERVIEW
The Early Childhood Education Instructor plays a crucial role in imparting theoretical knowledge and practical skills within the Early Childhood Diploma program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement lessons, assignments, and assessments aligned with an approved curriculum and the context of Indigenous communities. Deliver curriculum in an engaging and interactive manner, focusing on community development. Facilitate student learning through lectures, discussions, and multimedia presentations; prepare necessary resources for classroom engagement. Conduct research to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date. Assess individual student needs and support their personal and academic growth. Hold meetings with students to provide constructive feedback on their performance. Offer diverse evaluation methods to enhance student success. Recognize and address emotional, intellectual, and physical barriers to learning, recommending suitable interventions. Engage in and oversee college and program-related activities. Supervise and evaluate students during their practicum experiences. Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor towards students and colleagues at all times.QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary qualifications in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution – minimum ECE III. Credentials in adult education and/or experience in teaching or training adults. Extensive experience in various early learning and childcare environments. Exceptional presentation and facilitation abilities.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
Profound understanding of Indigenous culture within Indigenous Adult Learning settings. Relevant industry expertise and knowledge in the field of instruction, including ongoing professional development. Ability to empathize with and respond to the diverse needs and capabilities of students, ensuring equitable treatment within the Indigenous community context. Experience working with adult learners (18 years and older). Proven capacity for innovative curriculum delivery. Ability to facilitate effective experiential learning opportunities.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
