Position Overview

In the role of Human Resources Coordinator (Status: Full-Time, Temporary), you will deliver comprehensive Human Resources services to both management and front-line personnel. Your responsibilities will encompass recruitment, performance evaluation, attendance management, and occupational health and safety initiatives. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support for HR policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the recruitment and selection process by preparing and distributing necessary documentation, posting job openings, engaging with candidates, and maintaining thorough and accurate recruitment records.
  • Assist in managing staff transitions (new hires, departures, transfers, employment changes), ensuring effective communication and maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Human Resources team, including drafting correspondence and documents, managing incoming mail and calls, scheduling meetings, and preparing agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Generate various regular and ad hoc reports and respond to information requests.
  • Maintain and operate within multiple internal HR databases and files.
  • Monitor and ensure employee compliance with various employment regulations.
  • Update and maintain organizational charts as needed.
  • Participate in or support provincial initiatives or projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of prior administrative experience in an office setting, preferably within an HR function in a unionized environment, with a solid understanding of general office administrative processes.
  • Familiarity with HR functions acquired through experience or formal education.
  • General knowledge of applicable HR legislation and collective agreement frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in various software applications within the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to create correspondence, documents, meeting minutes, and reports that are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • A strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compliance with a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is required as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or progress towards certification with the Human Resources Professionals Association (CHRP or CHRL).
  • Experience in a healthcare or public sector setting.
  • Proficiency in French or another second language.
