Human Resources Specialist required to deliver HR services, provide expertise and consultation to leaders on people-related matters, and contribute to the organization's business objectives and culture.

Synterra Security Solutions is a First Nation owned company dedicated to premium security services, operating in the mining and energy sectors of Northern Ontario.

The successful candidate will work Monday – Friday (37.5 hours weekly) with a willingness to adjust their schedule to meet the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR consulting, advice, and planning services to the leadership team.
  • Coordinate the full cycle recruitment process.
  • Deliver subject matter expertise and guidance on workplace violence, discrimination, and harassment.
  • Lead grievance processes and workplace investigations.
  • Participate in labor management meetings and negotiations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and programs.
  • Develop and deliver education programs for client managers.
  • Attend work sites to participate in health and safety meetings and employee relations.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work experience in Human Resources or a similar setting an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge in all areas of HR practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, responsive, action, and results-orientated.
  • Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to staff safety.
