Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch drivers to various routes on a timely basis, ensuring that all students are safely transported to their destinations.
  • Monitor and manage driver operations, ensuring that all drivers are aware of road closures, traffic congestion, and other potential hazards.
  • Provide accurate and timely directions to drivers, ensuring that they are aware of any changes to routes or schedules.
  • Manage and assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance, ensuring that all vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and drivers, responding to inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the dispatch operation.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making recommendations to the Operations Manager to optimize the dispatch operation.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a dispatch or transportation-related role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, students, and parents.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Valid Ontario G license and a clean driver's abstract required.
