Substance Use Clinician, Indigenous Health MHSU, Masters

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Clinician, Indigenous Health to join our team. As a key member of our Indigenous Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing culturally sensitive care to Indigenous clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide initial screening and assessment of referrals from various sources, including health care providers, family members, and community agencies.
- Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans, working collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Provide short-term counseling, case management, and follow-up support to clients and families, with a focus on Indigenous cultural practices and beliefs.
- Facilitate client utilization of community services and rehabilitative programs, including residential programs, family therapy, and vocational programs.
- Develop and deliver in-services, education, and presentations to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on Indigenous mental health and substance use disorders.
- Master's degree in a relevant social or health sciences program, such as Counselling Psychology or Social Work.
- Two years' recent experience working with clients and families with mental illness and substance use disorders, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health approaches, protocol, and cultural issues.
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional associations.
