Substance Use Clinician MHSU

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Clinician MHSU to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Mental Health and Substance Use Services team, you will provide comprehensive care to individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide initial screening, assessment, and treatment recommendations for clients with substance use and mental health disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including case management and follow-up support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
- Provide education and support to clients and families on mental health and substance use issues, recovery processes, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Participate in local committees and internal/external case conferences to promote quality improvement and best practices.
- Develop and deliver in-services, presentations, and training to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on mental health and substance use topics.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Counselling Psychology or Social Work.
- Two years' recent experience working with clients and families with substance use and mental health disorders.
- Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association.
- Valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams.
