Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Payroll Specialist to enhance our Finance department at Black & McDonald. This role involves managing the payroll for Canadian hourly unionized employees, requiring a strong background in payroll processing. The ideal candidate will possess a PCP designation from NPI and have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with unionized staff in Quebec.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administering payroll and financial transactions, including onboarding new hires and processing terminations
  • Managing union relations, interpreting wage agreements, and conducting monthly reconciliations
  • Generating various payroll-related reports and documentation
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders in English and French
  • Fostering effective relationships with Operations, Human Resources, and financial controllers

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in both English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of performing under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Exemplary accuracy and meticulousness in work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems is considered an advantage
