Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Manager to take charge of our design initiatives at Plan Group Inc. This role involves overseeing significant construction endeavors throughout Canada. The ideal candidate will manage design teams, collaborate with consulting firms, and maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for assessing risks and opportunities while managing detailed project budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate design resources for various projects.
  • Make informed decisions in collaboration with consulting partners.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project alignment.
  • Evaluate project risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to budgets.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
  • A degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering certification in Ontario, British Columbia, or Quebec is advantageous.
  • Experience with design-build projects, particularly in healthcare settings, focusing on distribution, fire alarms, and lighting systems.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant electrical and construction codes and standards.
  • Strong capabilities in decision-making related to budget management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and SGN specifications is a plus.
