About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Wild Coast Daycare Ltd. As an integral part of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities and programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Storytelling and Engagement: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
  • Creative Expression: Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Health and Safety: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Availability: Be available for the advertised start date.
  • Work Eligibility: Be currently legally able to work in Canada.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
