About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team at Willowbrae Childcare Academy (Langford) as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant. This is a permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment
    • Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
    • Maintain daycare equipment
  • Support Early Childhood Education Programs
    • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
    • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Engage with Children
    • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
    • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
    • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Team Collaboration
    • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Child development assistant (ECE level 1)
  • Work Language: English
