Job Title: Experienced 3D Modeler

Job Summary:

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking an experienced 3D modeler to join our team. As a 3D modeler, you will be responsible for creating and building computer-generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and builds computer-generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs.
  • Prepares and builds models for characters and stand-ins for layout.
  • Develops prop elements for effects.
  • Creates environmental sets and structures.
  • May focus on developing technical drawings for model productions.
  • Writes, maintains and runs Makefiles, scripts and model databases.
  • Able to develop models for multiple types of productions from simple to moderately difficult.
  • Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.
  • Participates in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress.
  • Interact with production, supervisors and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya, Mudbox/Z brush, 3d Coat/topogun/paraform Linux and scripting ability in relevant languages including MEL, Perl and Python a plus.
  • Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.

Benefits:

  • Anticipated base salary for an Senior position is $41.20 to $59.16/hr.
  • Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable.
