Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Operations Coordinator to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of surgical procedures, communicating with healthcare teams, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures, including communicating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare teams
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of surgical schedules, patient information, and procedure details
  • Provide administrative support to the operating room team, including preparing patient charts, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as medical devices reprocessing and patient location and admitting, to ensure efficient and effective care delivery
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical or special care unit
  • Previous experience with computerized scheduling systems and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a recognized unit clerk training program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values
  • Typing/keyboard skills of 30 wpm
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a Windows-based environment
  • Knowledge of International Classification of Disease 10th
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work effectively under considerable stress and maintain accurate performance in a very busy unit. The individual will be the access point to slating procedures in the Adult/Children's Operating Room and must always be on site and available to respond to a critical need.
