At BRC Group - Tayco and BRC, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for the tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to support our organization's operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. They will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage purchase orders for raw materials, consumables, subcontractors, and services, expediting when needed.
- Ensure timely delivery of orders to meet production requirements.
- Source, evaluate, quote, select, and negotiate pricing for materials, supplies, and services.
- Analyze and implement effective inventory management systems.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements and implement.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless job completion and delivery.
- Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in material management or business preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and respond effectively in pressure situations.
- Strong customer service focus.
Working Conditions:
- Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
- Some travel may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Work on site at the plant as needed.
- Overtime as required.
