Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our Fuel Handling team, you will be responsible for executing commercial and internal work packages and projects related to machine design and process systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on mechanical equipment and systems, including process-related design on D2O, oil hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Lead technical staff on various tasks in design, development, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
- Prepare design documentation, including design requirements, design descriptions, design specifications, technical specifications, component specifications, test procedures, and plans.
- Review design reports, analysis reports, calculations, documents, and drawings in support of design verification.
- Perform complex technical calculations relevant to design, such as heat load analysis, fluid mechanics, and calculations related to component integrity.
- Conduct technical, conceptual, and detail design meetings with peers, clients, and suppliers.
- Provide technical guidance to design drafting staff and mentor junior engineers.
- Work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, client, and company procedures.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited University with a minimum 10 years of experience in machine, automation, equipment, and/or tooling design, or 10 years of experience in the fluid power, oil hydraulic control, and/or water process control industry.
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- Solid understanding of mechanics of machine, mechanics of materials, material selection, and fundamentals of machine component design.
- Solid understanding of fluid mechanics and process system control design, including open and closed-loop oil hydraulic circuit design.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II, III, V, VIII, and IX is an asset.
- Knowledge of general requirements for pressure-retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants CSA N285.0 code is an asset.
- Knowledge of boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping CSA B51 code is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- CAD experience in Solid Edge or Solid Works is an asset.
