Job Title: Compliance Specialist

At LGC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products are accurately classified and comply with national and international laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classify new and existing products according to controlled substance regulations, export regulations, and other relevant laws.
  • Manage product transport issues, including understanding and applying relevant embargo controls, classifying for transport and hazard requirements, and providing guidance on general compliance requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate licenses are in place for holding, selling, import, and export of goods.
  • Prepare and summarize compliance-related reports, amendment applications, and other regulatory documents.
Qualifications:
  • BSc in Chemistry or a related subject area, with a background in organic chemistry.
  • Preferred: MSc in Organic Chemistry.
  • Experience in one or more areas described in the job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Canadian controlled substance legislation.
Role Dimensions:
  • External Regulatory Government Agencies.
  • Works with departments to ensure and promote compliance.
  • Coordinate with departments at site, including Customer Service, Finished Goods, Shipping teams, Procurement, Production, Analytical, for regulated substance-related activities.
Physical & Working Conditions/Hybrid Work:
  • Work will be conducted in an office and occasionally in a laboratory environment.
  • Occasional local and international travel to other Company sites may be required.
