At LGC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products are accurately classified and comply with national and international laws.
Key Responsibilities:- Classify new and existing products according to controlled substance regulations, export regulations, and other relevant laws.
- Manage product transport issues, including understanding and applying relevant embargo controls, classifying for transport and hazard requirements, and providing guidance on general compliance requirements.
- Ensure appropriate licenses are in place for holding, selling, import, and export of goods.
- Prepare and summarize compliance-related reports, amendment applications, and other regulatory documents.
- BSc in Chemistry or a related subject area, with a background in organic chemistry.
- Preferred: MSc in Organic Chemistry.
- Experience in one or more areas described in the job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of Canadian controlled substance legislation.
- External Regulatory Government Agencies.
- Works with departments to ensure and promote compliance.
- Coordinate with departments at site, including Customer Service, Finished Goods, Shipping teams, Procurement, Production, Analytical, for regulated substance-related activities.
- Work will be conducted in an office and occasionally in a laboratory environment.
- Occasional local and international travel to other Company sites may be required.
