About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Engineer Intermediate to join our team at Onward Technologies Inc. in Windsor, Ontario. As a Simulation Engineer Intermediate, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of thermal management and controls systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement 1D and 1D-3D simulations for thermal management systems, including air-conditioning, engine, battery, and cabin cooling systems.
  • Design and develop advanced controllers for thermal systems, integrating system models within the controller.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to provide numerical solutions and suggest design improvements based on simulation results.
  • Work independently to obtain data from various sources, develop simulation models, and report writing.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in using 1D tools like Amesim, Flowmaster, Kuli, AVL Cruse.
  • Experience working with MATLAB/Simulink for solving flow/thermal problems or 2 years of experience in Applied CFD.
  • At least 2 years of experience in controls development, implementation, and validation in MATLAB.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering, preferably with a thesis in Therm-fluid/controls simulation.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge in Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Heat Transfer.
  • Good knowledge of automotive systems and components and their functioning.
  • Working knowledge of system bench/dynamometer testing and vehicle drive cell testing.
