Job Title: Global Compliance Officer

Reporting to the global Chief Operating Officer, the Compliance Officer (Global) plays a critical role in driving the achievement of Avison Young's objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic and creative input to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Avison Young's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall management of Avison Young's compliance program, including Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery, and Sanctions Checking.
  • Leads internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Avison Young's policies and procedures.
  • Manages relationships with governing agencies and ensures timely and effective communication.
  • Works with Avison Young executives and compliance team members to implement the corporate compliance agenda across national markets.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of proven managerial experience in a multi-national risk and compliance function.
  • Strong experience in understanding regulatory issues and ensuring thorough communications regarding compliance and ethics.
  • Commercial Real Estate experience required.
  • History of monitoring ethics hotlines, preferably NAVEX experience.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory guidance in a commercial context.
  • Ability to communicate at a board level on strategic regulatory issues.
  • Proven experience in dealing with client complaints and liability insurance claims.
  • Masters Degree in a business-related discipline.
  • Corporate Compliance Professional accreditation by Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, preferably CCEP-I designation.
