Job Summary

Chinook's Edge School Division is seeking a Behavioural Specialist to provide educational and behavioural support to students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the school community to develop and implement strategies to support students with complex behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational and behavioural support to students with complex needs
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed practice and reactive attachment disorder strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement behaviour plans
  • Provide training and professional development to school staff on complex behaviour and trauma-informed practice
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g. education, psychology, social work)
  • Experience working with students with complex behavioural needs
  • Training in trauma-informed practice and reactive attachment disorder
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and community partners
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal training in psychiatric nursing or youth and childcare
  • Experience working with students with complex social/emotional challenges
  • Training in SIVA and Studio 3
