Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer or Certified/Professional Technologist to join our Pipe Integrity - Damage Prevention Encroachment's team. As a Senior Pipeline Integrity Specialist, you will be part of a high-performing group of engineers, technologists, and analysts who strive to enhance the safety and protection of TC Energy's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the development and implementation of TC Energy's Damage Prevention Programs
- Lead the execution of damage prevention activities, including third-party damage incidents, unauthorized activities, right-of-way brushing, one-calls, and support for right-of-way field activities
- Analyze data, identify trends, and implement short- and long-term plans for ongoing improvements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to damage prevention
- Provide technical leadership in engineering analysis and risk mitigation
- Mentor junior engineers and students
- Proactively identify risks and develop strategies to prevent incidents
- Prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders
- Participate in industry working groups (e.g., CGA, CCGA)
Requirements
- 10+ years of related engineering or engineering technology experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Diploma in Engineering Technology
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA in good standing
- Candidates with a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation or a P.Tech. (Eng.) designation with an appropriate scope of practice, with ASET, may be considered at a different level
- Professional experience in Pipeline Integrity, Project Management, and/or Damage Prevention roles
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a track record of task completion and change leadership
- Excellent communication (written and oral), time management, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Experience in audit, assurance, and regulatory engagements
- Participation in industry collaboration and working groups
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
