This is a senior leadership role within the Dealer Services Unit at Scotiabank, responsible for overseeing the BNS and SSI adjustment teams in Canada. The successful candidate will lead the execution of business strategies, plans, and initiatives in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Direct the activities of the department to ensure the achievement of quality service goals and objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor service and performance levels of the department and implement effective improvements.
- Request Execution: Effectively and efficiently manage the accurate execution of requests for BNS & SSI Dealer.
- Settlement and Reporting: Ensure the daily settlement of outstanding trades, report on and correct all rejected transactions, and maintain an accurate Dealer database.
- Human Resources: Prepare and conduct staff Performance Appraisal Reports, and ensure that all personnel activities are performed in accordance with bank policy.
- Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and counsel to staff, and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open lines of communication.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, process/system enhancements, and participate in the development, design, testing, and implementation of new processes.
- Special Projects: Direct or participate in special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager.
- Education: Degree in Finance or related field preferred – CSC would be an asset.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of registered product procedures, including Deposits, Mutual Fund Securities regulations, and Legislative regulations with respect to all tax sheltered products.
