Food Safety Assurance Specialist

Intercity Packers Ltd. is on the lookout for a dedicated Food Safety Assurance Specialist to uphold the integrity of our food products, ensuring they comply with both company standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, ideally in food science, and will have relevant experience within the food sector, particularly in protein processing. A solid understanding of analytical methodologies and certifications in HACCP and SQF will be advantageous. Strong communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit are crucial for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify that food products align with company and regulatory benchmarks
  • Formulate and assess quality and safety protocols while overseeing audits
  • Implement safe work practices and enforce HACCP principles
  • Engage in both on-site monitoring and administrative tasks
  • Revise and enhance internal policies to fulfill SQF standards
  • Examine production lines for adherence to compliance
  • Support employee training in Food Safety and Quality
  • Work alongside other departments to ensure compliance
  • Address and resolve customer feedback efficiently
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, preferably food science
  • Experience in the food industry, with a focus on protein
  • HACCP and SQF certifications are preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of analytical practices
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Team-oriented individual with proficiency in Google Suite applications
