Revel IT is seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating the design of control systems based on established operational sequences. This role involves creating intricate piping and wiring diagrams while providing essential technical support across various projects related to control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer pneumatic piping diagrams.
  • Develop and engineer electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Create and engineer hydraulic piping diagrams.
  • Design electrical control panels.
  • Develop software for programmable logic controllers.
  • Design software for programmable human-machine interfaces (HMI).
  • Conduct tryouts, debugging, and provide start-up assistance for control systems.
  • Offer technical support for the installation of tools and equipment.
  • Assist in training plant personnel with technical support.
  • Travel to various plant sites as necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in the application of programmable machine control hardware and software.
  • Proficient in the use of Servo drive hardware and software.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with fundamental electrical standards.
  • Knowledgeable about basic safety standards.
  • Ability to supervise effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience is necessary.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging team members in safety processes.
  • Utilize the Global Manufacturing System effectively.
  • Support daily production operations with a focus on personnel and equipment safety, process quality, and uptime, particularly in automation and controls.
  • Provide technical and engineering support for troubleshooting equipment and process failures, identifying effective follow-up measures.
  • Identify and execute projects to achieve departmental business objectives and enhance safety, quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Review equipment operation and reliability, developing tracking methods as needed.
  • Identify and implement special projects for process and quality improvements, equipment refurbishment, and future programs.
  • Ensure that new and existing equipment meets operational requirements and standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all equipment in the assigned area, ensuring spare parts availability and developing maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay current in fields of expertise.
  • Update management on the status and emerging trends related to equipment standards and legislative requirements.
  • Identify training and knowledge transfer opportunities with other Controls Engineers and Maintenance Associates.
  • Design and manage key strategic interfaces within systems to promote component reuse and adherence to standard methodologies.
  • Support specialists in root cause analysis.
  • Design tests to efficiently identify opportunities for design improvements.
  • Document system vulnerabilities and develop mitigation action plans; track corrective actions.
