About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our growing energy and resources team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to support Canadian and international projects in the fast-growing energy economy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Planning and Execution: Plan, schedule, and estimate design engineering effort on projects from conception to issue of all drawings and specifications for construction.
  2. Proposal Development: Assist in the development of proposals to secure new projects and clients.
  3. Cost Estimation and Risk Management: Prepare and/or review cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and elements of project design to ensure project goals are achieved.
  4. Project Strategy and Coordination: Develop project strategy to ensure key issues are identified early and to ensure project goals of quality, schedule, and cost are achieved.
  5. Design Review and Approval: Review and approve all designs to ensure conformity with project specifications, project scope, company practices, and sound engineering practices.
  6. Client Communication: Serve as the main technical contact with clients and provide recommendations on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects.
  7. Team Leadership and Development: Coach and mentor junior engineers in the development of their skills and training, and mentor other engineers within the project engineering team.
Requirements
  1. Education and Certification: Graduate in Engineering with a P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation.
  2. Experience: 7-10 years of direct project engineering experience in an EPCM environment in the energy industry.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to produce high-quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines, and ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
